Winter Shelter for Homeless

C4WS provides emergency accommodation and support to those facing homelessness in the borough of Camden. Supporting this initiative, selected local churches open their doors every evening from the beginning of November through to the end of March, creating a warm and safe space for up to 16 guests to sleep each night. All guests come from Camden Referral Agencies.

Our congregation decided many years ago to look outwards and support this important local initiative. We volunteer with our friends from local churches and the wider community and open our church doors to the homeless every Sunday evening between November and March.  This winter we will start hosting the shelter on Sunday 5 November and will be happy to welcome volunteers, whether you are a church-goer or not!

Spending time with the guests each night is a real privilege - having a chat, sharing a funny story, and enjoying the delicious suppers together.

C4WS also offers guests staying at the shelter access to a weekly Jobs Club, training and volunteering opportunities, English classes, Wellbeing Services and a Mentoring and Befriending scheme. This season also saw the launch of their new “Home From Home” hosting scheme.  More information about C4WS can be found here.

Getting involved

We also have volunteers involved with community lunches, charity fundraising and running our Sunday services.
