Flexible rental space available for events 

We are very experienced venue hirers for an extensive range of events and uses in our building. We can help you whether you are looking for a suitable venue to host a children’s party, a wedding, or a 60th birthday party. We also have considerable experience working with local theatre groups, choirs, bands and musical ensembles who use Pond Square chapel for both rehearsal and production space.

Two separate areas: space specifications

Upstairs Chapel: 15.8m (52ft) long x 12m (40ft) wide with Lounge 5m (16.4ft) long x 7m (23ft) wide
Downstairs Hall: 17.53m (58ft) long x 8.22m (26.10ft) wide
(Can be hired separately or together, eg for weddings)

The acoustics make it a popular venue for concerts and plays, while the good quality of light is great for artists and for weddings. There is a grand piano available for use. All the furniture is moveable, including the pulpit, and is capable of seating over 200, but equally suitable for more intimate events.

Although the chapel is higher than street level and accessed by some steps. Mobility restricted visitors can enter via the external lift. There is a disabled-equipped toilet and baby-changing facility off the Lounge, and there is also a loop system installed to assist the hard of hearing. Next to the chapel is a small Lounge and a small kitchen where tea, coffee and snacks can be served. There is a beautiful front garden with a ramp for wheelchairs and buggies.

Downstairs Hall


The hall can be hired for children's and adults parties, but no amplified music is permitted in order to respect our nearby neighbours. Our Administrator, Patricia Judd, can explain this in detail.
